IDEA contributes in many different ways with the construction and strengthening of rule of law in Paraguay.
Over the past years, IDEA has provided counsel to institutions responsible for legislation and norms on issues of interest to the public (the environment, natural resources, sustainable development, intellectual property, democracy). This task is carried out while trying to adapt best practices in comparative law to our country’s political, social and economic reality.
IDEA is the only Paraguayan organization that conducts research, generates legal doctrine, and promotes debate around issues that are collective in nature, their relation with human rights and the ability to demand them at the courts.
