How can we complement production practices in the Chaco so as to improve sustainability? What are some models that can be applied in order to increase not only profitability, but also stability and resilience in current models? The Conservation and Sustainable Natural Resource Management in Paraguay project, which is being carried out jointly by the Wildlife Conservation Society, the Fundación para el Desarrollo Sustentable del Chaco Sudamericano, Fundación Guyra Paraguay, and IDEA, seeks to answer these questions by meeting three main objectives:
1) Develop and promote sustainable natural resource use models in the Chaco;
2) Promote forestation and/or reforestation in deforested areas of the Oriental Region;
3) Establish private conservation approaches in areas with high biological value.
